Davis vs. Crist

      Jim Davis, Florida native and congressman, is running against Republican Charlie Crist in November’s Gubernatorial election. Representative Davis has been involved in politics for more than 15 years, first as a member of the Florida Legislature working his way up to Congressman. As Governor he plans to keep fighting to protect Florida’s coastline from offshore drilling as well as its public lands and waterways. He would also like to improve Florida school systems by fighting for higher teacher salaries, smaller class sizes, a re-tooled FCAT and an improved curriculum. Davis supports stem cell research as well as increasing health care funding for rural communities and children’s health programs. He hopes to protect families devastated by hurricanes by seeking fair insurance rates, timely claims settlements and by providing the state with a fully funded Hurricane Catastrophe Fund.
